Primetime Summer 2012 Program
I am currently teaching a summer program for middle school and High school students at the University of Buffalo. The 5 week program teaches students skills using digital photography and shooting digital video. The culminating project will be a series of short films and PSA's around the topic of "Anti-Violence." The students are responsible for developing storyboards, shooting and editing video using iMovie software, as well as adding soundtracks and special effects. At the end of the summer program the short film will be screened by the public, be uploaded to media sites such as YouTube and hopefully be seen worldwide.
Learning the Basics - Short Films
Students learned basic video production skills and created a short film as evidence of their learning. Shooting film, editing video, mixing sound and adding effects are the sole responsibility of the student. These short films were completed in one day.
These videos are a precursor to the creation of a 30 second short PSA about Anti-violence to be completed later in the summer program.
