"My Name" Value Drawing

Picture

Here students can learn what a "value drawing" & "gradient" is. Start off by creating some bubble/ block letters and spell out your name. Take a ruler and draw between 5 and 8 straight lines across the entire paper dividing it into many sections. Be sure the lines zig-zag and divide the letters in your name. Now each dissected section (both big and small) should be colored in using a "gradient". A gradient shows a color value from dark to light. Use contrasting colors for the letter sections in your name to make them standout.

Supplies: Colored Pencils, Rulers, 8X8 inch poster board
